Insulation: United States

This report forecasts to 2028 US insulation demand in metric tons, square meter R-1 value, and nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level, as well as production in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level. Total demand in metric tons is segmented by material in terms of: fiberglass; foamed plastic; mineral wool; and other materials such as aerogels, cellulose, and reflective insulation. Total demand is also segmented by market in square meters of R-1 value as follows: residential buildings; nonresidential buildings; industrial and plant equipment; HVAC and air distribution; transportation equipment; appliances; and other markets such as nonbuilding construction, furniture, and packaging.

To illustrate historical trends, total demand in metric tons is provided in annual series from 2013 to 2023; total production by value, total demand by value and in square meters R-1 value, and the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2013, 2018, and 2023.

Both thermal and acoustic insulation are included in the scope of this report. Granulated mineral wool used in ceiling tiles is excluded.

Key macroeconomic indicators are also provided with quantified trends. Other various topics, including profiles of pertinent leading companies, are covered in this report. A full outline of report items by page is available in the Table of Contents.
