This report forecasts to 2026 insulation demand in metric tons, square meters R-1 value, and nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level, as well as production in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level in Canada. Total demand in metric tons is segmented by material in terms of: fiberglass; foamed plastic; mineral wool; and other materials such as aerogels, cotton, and reflective insulation. Total demand in square meter R-1 value is segmented by market as follows: residential building; nonresidential building; industrial and plant equipment; HVAC and air distribution; appliances; transportation equipment; and other markets such as nonbuilding construction, furniture, and packaging.
To illustrate historical trends, total demand in metric tons is provided in annual series from 2011 to 2021; total production by value, total demand by value and square meters R-1 value, and the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2011, 2016, and 2021.
Both thermal and acoustic insulation are included in the scope of this report. Granulated mineral wool used in ceiling tiles is excluded.
