This report forecasts to 2023 US industrial fastener demand in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level. Total demand is segmented by product in terms of: externally threaded standard-grade, internally threaded standard-grade, nonthreaded standard-grade, application-specific (or specialized) standard-grade, and aerospace-grade. Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: original equipment manufacturing (OEM) motor vehicles, OEM machinery, other OEM applications, maintenance and repair operations, and construction.

To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2008 to 2018; the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2008, 2013, and 2018.

Excluded from the scope of the report are: nails, brads, spikes, tacks, and related items; adhesives and other joining/bonding products; and nonindustrial type products like buttons, paper clips, and zippers.
