Hardscaping Products: United States

This report forecasts to 2025 US hardscaping products demand in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level. Total demand is segmented by product in terms of: concrete pavers, slabs, and planks; lumber; blocks; ready-mix concrete; stone tiles, slabs, and veneer; and other products such as bricks, aggregates, and boulders. Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: residential, commercial, and recreation and infrastructure.

To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2010 to 2020; the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2010, 2015, and 2020.

Hardscaping generally refers to the permanent elements in a landscape other than the lawn and other vegetation. This report uses a narrower definition and includes only durable products used to make such landscape architecture as patios, walkways, retaining walls, edging, site-built outdoor fireplaces, and outdoor kitchens. Hardscaping products used to produce site-built outdoor kitchens or other structures are included, but similar materials incorporated into prefabricated units or kits produced in a manufacturing plant are not. In the case of heating products, prefabricated units or kits are included with heating product demand. Also excluded from coverage in this category are: lumber decking, which differs from patios in that it uses a substructure that elevates it above the ground; hardscape products used in non-landscape areas like driveways or roadways; bricks and blocks that are part of home structure; and products used in retaining walls, if the structure is necessary to the integrity of yard or building.

Key macroeconomic indicators are also provided with quantified trends. Other various topics, including profiles of pertinent leading companies, are covered in this report. A full outline of report items by page is available in the Table of Contents.
