Product segments include: internal combustion engine (ICE) filters; fluid filters; and air filters. Reported markets encompass: transportation equipment; consumer; manufacturing; utilities; off-road equipment; and other markets such as chemicals processing, energy production, and pulp and paper production. Major world regions include North America, Western Europe, Asia/Pacific, and all other regions.

Membranes are excluded from the scope of this report. Membranes are used in processes like reverse osmosis and compete with conventional filters in areas like water filtration. Other competing technologies – such as machines used for centrifugation and photocatalytic water purification equipment – are also excluded.

For any given historical year, US dollar amounts are obtained from values expressed in the applicable local currency. These local currency values are converted to US dollars at the average annual exchange rate for that year. For forecast years, the US dollar amounts assume the same annual exchange rate as that prevailing in 2023.
