This report forecasts to 2027 US glass beverage packaging demand in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level. Total demand is segmented by market in terms of: beer; wine and wine beverages; bottled water; distilled spirits; carbonated soft drinks; ready-to-drink (RTD) tea and coffee; milk and milk alternatives; fruit beverages; and other niche beverages such as vegetable blends, herbal drinks, and sake.
To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2012 to 2022; the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2012, 2017, and 2022.
Demand for beverage packaging includes both captive and merchant production. In the case of returnable bottles, each use (or "trip") is counted separately in this report.
Among the applications excluded from the scope of this report are: coffee and tea other than RTD types; drinkable yogurt; fountain drinks; frozen or shelf stable concentrated fruit beverages; infant formula; light and heavy cream, half and half, and other coffee whiteners; liquid nutritional supplements; packaged milk shakes; powdered and condensed milk; powdered fruit drinks and sports beverages; soft drink concentrates; unpackaged water; vegetable juice; and all other beverages not in ready-to-drink format.
Also excluded from this report are all bulk containers not intended primarily for in-home or consumer use; this includes drums, rigid bulk containers, and barrels. In bottled water, containers larger than two-and-a-half gallons are excluded.
