This report forecasts to 2028 US filter demand and production in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level. Total demand is segmented by product in terms of: fluid filters, internal combustion engine filters, and air filters. Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: transportation equipment; consumer; manufacturing; utilities; off-road equipment; and other markets such as chemicals processing, energy production, and metallurgy.

To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2013 to 2023; production and the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2013, 2018, and 2023.

Membranes are excluded from the scope of this report. Membranes are used in processes like reverse osmosis and compete with conventional filters in areas like water filtration. Other competing technologies – such as machines used for centrifugation and photocatalytic water purification equipment – are also excluded.
