This report forecasts to 2027 US fencing demand in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level. Total demand is segmented by material in terms of: metal; wood; plastic and composite; concrete; and other materials such as bamboo, brick, and stone. Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: residential, commercial, nonbuilding, and agricultural.
To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2012 to 2022; and the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2012, 2017, and 2022.
For the purposes of this report, fences constructed with more than one material (e.g., wire fencing with wood posts) are categorized by the primary material used to span the area between posts. For example, wire fencing with wood posts is classified as metal fencing. In addition to primary fencing, this study also includes demand for fencing accessories such as gates, gate operators, and hardware (e.g., locks, latches, and hinges). Excluded from the scope of the study are: deck and porch rails, DIY fences built on-site by consumers from basic materials, guardrails, highway sound barriers, retaining walls, and solar fencing.
Key macroeconomic indicators are also provided with quantified trends. Other various topics, including profiles of pertinent leading companies, are covered in this report. A full outline of report items by page is available in the Table of Contents.
