Elevators: Europe
This report forecasts to 2024 elevator equipment and services demand and elevator equipment shipments in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level in Europe. Total demand is segmented by type in terms of: passenger and freight elevators, escalators and moving walkways, elevator parts and separately sold products, modernization and repair services, and installation services. Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: residential and nonresidential.
To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2009 to 2019; elevator equipment shipments and the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2009, 2014, and 2019.
This report analyzes the European market for elevators (including passenger and freight elevators), escalators, and moving walkways; and associated parts that are sold separately, such as controls, doors, sensors, and power transmission equipment. This report also covers demand for installation services and modernization services. For the purposes of this report, general references to elevators or the elevator market include escalators and moving walkways, parts, and services, while elevators themselves, often referred to as lifts in European publications, are described as passenger and freight elevators. Products beyond the scope of this report include aerial work platforms (man lifts), chair lifts, and conveyor systems used for the transport of goods.
For any given historical year, US dollar amounts are obtained from values expressed in the applicable local currency. These local currency values are converted to US dollars at the average annual exchange rate for that year. For forecast years, the US dollar amounts assume the same annual exchange rate as that prevailing in 2019.
Key macroeconomic indicators are also provided with quantified trends. Other various topics, including profiles of pertinent leading suppliers, are covered in this report. A full outline of report items by page is available in the Table of Contents.
