This report forecasts to 2023 US electric power transmission and distribution equipment demand in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level. Total demand is segmented by product in terms of: switchgear and switchboard apparatus; power transformers; distribution transformers; and other transformers such as machine tool control, power regulating, and specialty types. Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: electric utilities; industrial and nonutility generators; and commercial, government, and residential.

To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2008 to 2018; the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2008, 2013, and 2018.

Excluded from the scope of this report are electronic transformers, electric meters, fluorescent lamp ballasts, pole and transmission line hardware, cable, and power generation equipment (e.g., generators and motors).
