Total demand is segmented by material in terms of: foamed plastic; fiberglass; mineral wool; and other materials such as reflective insulation, radiant barriers, and cellulose. Total demand is also segmented by project type as follows: new construction and retrofit.
To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2011 to 2021; the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2011, 2016, and 2021.
Both thermal and acoustic insulation are included in the scope of this report. Granulated mineral wool used in ceiling tiles is not included in the scope of this report.
