Bulk Packaging: Europe

Bulk Packaging: Europe

This report forecasts to 2026 bulk packaging demand in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level in Europe. Total demand is segmented by product in terms of: intermediate bulk containers; shipping sacks; film wrap; drums; bulk pails; material handling containers; and other products (such as bulk boxes, strapping, and liners). Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: chemicals and pharmaceuticals; food and beverages; durable goods; and other markets (such as agricultural products; plastic, rubber, and fiber products; and petroleum products).

To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2011 to 2021; the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2011, 2016, and 2021.

This report analyzes the European bulk packaging market, including both flexible and rigid bulk packaging. Bulk packaging is defined as large-scale packaging that is used to store or transport raw ingredients or finished goods, either in single containers or to group separate items together for bulk shipment.

Excluded from the scope of this report are: nonpackaging applications for textile sacks, such as money bags and sand bags for flood control; pallets and wood containers such as crates; corrugated and solid fiberboard containers other than bulk boxes and corrugated rigid intermediate bulk containers; tanker trucks and metal tanks for liquids; cans, bottles, jars, and tubs used for the retail packaging of large sizes of foods and other consumer goods; and large retail packaging for consumer goods such as lawn care products and pet food.

For any given historical year, US dollar amounts are obtained from values expressed in the applicable local currency. These local currency values are converted to US dollars at the average annual exchange rate for that year. For forecast years, the US dollar amounts assume the same annual exchange rate as that prevailing in 2021.

Key macroeconomic indicators are also provided with quantified trends. Other various topics, including profiles of pertinent leading companies, are covered in this report. A full outline of report items by page is available in the Table of Contents.
