Bulk Packaging: Canada

Bulk Packaging: Canada

This report forecasts to 2026 bulk packaging demand in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level in Canada. Total demand is segmented by product in terms of: shipping sacks; film wrap; intermediate bulk containers; bulk pails; drums; material handling containers; and other bulk packaging such as bulk boxes, strapping, and paper roll wrap. Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: chemicals and pharmaceuticals; food and beverage; durable goods; agricultural products; plastic, rubber, and fiber; and other markets such as paper and textile goods, disposable medical supplies, and wholesale distribution.

To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2011 to 2021; the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2011, 2016, and 2021.

Excluded from this report are nonpackaging applications for textile sacks, such as money bags and sand bags for flood control; pallets and wood containers; and corrugated and solid fiberboard containers other than bulk boxes and corrugated rigid intermediate bulk containers. This report also excludes cans, bottles, jars, and tubs used for the retail packaging of bulk sizes of foods and other consumer goods.

For any given historical year, US dollar amounts are obtained from values expressed in the applicable local currency. These local currency values are converted to US dollars at the average annual exchange rate for that year. For forecast years, the US dollar amounts assume the same annual exchange rate as that prevailing in 2021.

Key macroeconomic indicators are also provided with quantified trends. Other various topics, including profiles of pertinent leading companies, are covered in this report. A full outline of report items by page is available in the Table of Contents.
