Total demand is also segmented by market sector as follows: aftermarket and original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2011 to 2021; the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2011, 2016, and 2021.
This report covers the US automotive battery industry, where batteries are defined as devices that contain an electric cell (or a series thereof) that stores energy which can be converted into electrical power.
Excluded from this report are battery chargers, booster cables (jumper cables), and other ancillary equipment used with batteries.
