This report forecasts to 2028 US audio and video equipment demand and shipments in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level. Total demand is segmented by product in terms of: televisions and video projectors, audio equipment (speakers, amplifiers, and microphones; and headphones and earphones), automotive audio equipment, and other products such as music playback devices (or music players) and video playback and recording devices (or video players and recorders).
To illustrate historical trends, total demand, total shipments, the various segments, and trade are provided in annual series from 2013 to 2023.
For the purposes of this report, speakers and microphones used in automotive audio applications are included in the speakers, amplifiers, and microphones segment.
This report excludes broadcast and movie production cameras, broadcast and studio microphones, digital displays, doorbell and security cameras, photography cameras, sound recordings, and television and radio transmission equipment. Also excluded are set-top boxes or cable boxes, smartphones, tablets, and video game consoles.
Re-exports of audio and video equipment are excluded from demand and trade figures.
