Credit card companies in South Korea have been cutting back on interest-free instalment services in response to prolonged high interest rates and concerns over declining profitability. Eight major credit card companies – Shinhan, Samsung, Hyundai, KB Kookmin, Lotte, Hana, Woori, and BC Card – have reduced their interest-free instalment period to a maximum of five months.
