Coffee in the Netherlands
Off-trade coffee sales recorded a minor increase in 2021 after seeing extreme growth the year before. During the first half of 2021 lockdown measures drove the sales of coffee in the off-trade. In the second half of the year, schools reopened, workers started to return to the office and on-trade establishments saw lockdown measures lifted. This meant that the on-trade showed the first signs of a recovery. As a result, off-trade sales recorded a decline in volume in the second half of the year.
