Coffee in Mexico
Foodservice sales of coffee were hard hit in 2020 with outlets forced to close as part of Mexico’s lockdown measures between March and May. In addition, once outlets began to reopen in May, ongoing social distancing policies and COVID-19 regulations partnered with consumers ongoing fear of socialising in public, continued to dampen foodservice sales. As such, this helped to boost retail sales, with consumers migrating to drinking coffee at home.
