Leptomeningeal disease (LMD) is a condition where cancer spreads to the cerebrospinal fluid and the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. This spread can occur through various mechanisms, such as direct seeding from brain tissue, dura mater, and bone, as well as through hematogenous seeding and other routes.
