Desmoid tumors is an abnormal growth that arises from connective tissue. “Desmoid"""" comes from the Greek word desmos, which means tendon or band-like. These are also known as aggressive fibromatosis or desmoid-type fibromatosis. Chemotherapy agents used to inhibit growth include Doxorubicin (Adriamycin, Rubex), Dacarabazine (DTIC-Dome) and Carboplatin (Paraplatin).
