A magnetic pump, also known as a magnetically coupled pump or mag-drive pump, is a type of centrifugal pump that uses magnetic fields to transmit power from the motor to the impeller. It features a hermetically sealed design, where the pump’s impeller shaft and the motor shaft are separated by a containment shell. This separation is achieved through the use of a set of permanent magnets, with one set on the motor side and the other set on the impeller side. When the motor spins, the magnetic field created by the magnets on the motor side interacts with the magnets on the impeller side, causing the impeller to rotate.
