In the United States, the hair care business is over $83 billion. Women are the primary consumers of hair care products. Retailers include: beauty supply shops and hair salons. Some of the major players in the industry are L’Oreal, Procter & Gamble and Unilever which comprise over 60% of the market share in the U.S. The consumer goods retail hair care division is expect to have continued growth over the next 2­5 year period of time with one of the largest growth areas to be in the African American community.
