Wind Turbine Nacelle Market, By Location of Deployment (Onshore and Offshore), By Turbine Capacity (Less than 1.5 MW, 1.5MW to 2 MW, 2 MW to 2.5 MW and Greater than 2.5 MW), By Region (North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa) - Size, Share, Outlook, and Opportunity Analysis, 2022 - 2030
Wind turbine nacelle is known to be the cover that houses generating components of the wind turbine. The nacelle includes a top face that extends in the wind direction and an inner facing. Moreover, it has a cooling device and a cover. The top face of the nacelle contains a ventilation system to cool the equipment. Otherwise, the equipment can become too hot and decrease its efficiency. Once the nacelle is completed, it is then ready for installation. During the installation process, the main shaft, gearbox unit, and generator assembly are lifted into the nacelle. A transformer can also be installed inside the nacelle. After this, the wind turbine nacelle undergoes a thorough final check by technicians before being shipped to the wind farm.
Market Dynamics:
Growing awareness regarding harmful effects of carbon dioxide emission and increasing adoption of renewable energy sources is expected to boost growth of the global wind turbine nacelle market during the forecast period. Use of sustainable energy sources for power production is growing around the world to reduce environmental impact of conventional sources. As per the Global Wind Energy Council, the wind power capacity across the globe is likely to increase to 1000 GW due to expansion of wind industry by 2024 with 348 GW capacity installations during 2020 to 2024.
However, overall cost of nacelle of wind turbines is high, which is slowing down the wind turbine nacelle growth. Moreover, logistical constraints related to wind turbines are also hampering the market growth.
