X-Ray Market, by Modality (Portable, Stationary), by Product Type (Rotating Anode Source, Fix Anode Source), by Technology (Analog, Computed Radiography, Digital Radiography (Flat Panel Detectors, High Density Line Scan Solid State Detectors)), by Application (General Radiography, Chest Imaging, Orthopedic, Cardiovascular, Dental, Mammography, Others), by End User (Hospitals, Diagnostic Centers, Research Centers, Ambulatory Surgical Centers), and by Region (North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa)- Size, Share, Outlook, and Opportunity Analysis, 2022 - 2030
An X-ray system is a medical imaging tool which is used to view, monitor, and diagnose bone fractures, cancer, abdominal pain, joint injuries, and infections and thus has wide applications in the healthcare industry. Considering its wide areas of application, the X-Ray Market is expected to gain significant traction in the near future. X-ray technology which is used for diagnosis include X-ray radiography, mammography, computed tomography (CT), and fluoroscopy. X-ray radiography detects bone fractures, dental problems, certain tumors, and other abnormal masses. Digital films are convenient and form electronic images that can be viewed faster than conventional medical X-ray films, which require processing and occupy ample space in hospitals. The X-ray technology is also used for therapeutic applications. For example, radiation therapy is used in cancer treatment. In radiation therapy, the X-ray and other types of high energy is used to destroy the cancerous tumors by damaging the genetic makeup i.e. DNA. The radiation dose used in such treatments is much higher compared to that used in diagnostic treatment. X-ray technology is also used in other types of diagnostic procedures, such as arteriograms, computed tomography (CT) scans, and fluoroscopy.
Market Dynamics
Increasing adoption of inorganic strategies such as acquisition by the key players to enhance the product portfolio in market is expected to drive market growth over the forecast period. For instance, in April 2021, DispatchHealth Management, LLC, a provider of mobile and virtual healthcare for people, announced the acquisition of Professional Portable X-Ray (PPX), a mobile imaging provider. This acquisition will enhance the services of DispatchHealth which will further include mobile radiology.
