Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) Devices Market, by Device Type (Standalone Devices, Single-use Devices, Portable Devices, and Accessories), by Application (Diabetic Foot Ulcers, Venous Leg Ulcers, Pressure Ulcers, and Burn Wounds), and by Region (North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa)- Size, Share, Outlook, and Opportunity Analysis, 2022 - 2030
Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), also called vacuum assisted wound closure, refers to wound dressing systems that continuously or intermittently apply negative pressure to the system, thereby applying positive pressure to the surface of a wound. NPWT has become a approved treatment method for the management of several acute and chronic wounds. There are several different applications for negative pressure wound therapy devices.
Negative pressure wound therapy is a technique that uses a vacuum bandage to promote healing of both acute and chronic wounds. This method of treating wounds greatly helps in healing wounds complicated by burns, infections, poor blood circulation, artificial implants or exposed bone. NPWT supports healing by improving rates of angiogenesis, endothelial proliferation, capillary blood flow, basement membrane integrity, and reducing edema and bacterial load in the wound.
NPWT is very useful in several different clinical situations. Because wounds are fundamentally diversified. Negative pressure wound therapy is not a simple and straightforward process while applying negative pressure wound therapy to their management. Each patient has different needs that must be considered when planning treatment.
Market Dynamics
Increasing adoption of inorganic strategies by key players in market such as distribution agreements is expected to drive market growth over the forecast period. For instance, in April 2022, Aatru Medical, LLC, a privately held medical device technology, had announced a distribution agreement with Salus Biomedical, is a medical device distributor across Latin America for the NPSIMS product which are single use devices. This agreement would help Aatru to address the increasing demand for NPWT devices in Latin America.
