Limestone Market, By Application (Industry Lime, Chemical Lime, Construction Lime, Refractory Lime), By End User Industry (Paper and Pulp, Water Treatment, Agriculture, Plastics, Building and Construction, Steel Manufacturing and Other Industries (Including Energy), Other End-user Industries), and By Geography (North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa, and South America)- Size, Share, Outlook, and Opportunity Analysis, 2022 - 2030
Limestone is a sedimentary rock that is made up of mostly calcium carbonate. It has several varieties. While it is used for various applications, it is primarily a building material. Besides being used for construction, it is also useful in the production of glass, paper, and fiber. In addition, it is a source of calcium for the manufacture of chemicals, dyes, and pharmaceuticals. Some limestones are associated with lakes or springs. Others form in shallow marine waters. Most limestones, however, form in calm, clear, warm waters. Calcium carbonate is the main ingredient of limestone, although some limestones also contain magnesium carbonate and iron carbonate.
Market Dynamics:
Increasing investment in public infrastructure projects is predicted to propel growth of the limestone market. Moreover, growing demand from construction, mining, steel manufacturing, slag reforming, and cement manufacturing is again expected to augment market growth. On the other hand, increasing awareness about global warming is expected to impact the market in the future. Increased carbon dioxide emissions are caused by the steel and lime industries. Health risks associated with calcium carbonate are also a significant factor that could impede the market's growth.
