Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay Market, by Method (Direct ELISA, Indirect ELISA, Sandwich ELISA and Competitive ELISA), by Application (Vaccine Development, Immunology, Diagnostics, Toxicology, Drug Monitoring & Pharmaceutical Industry & Transplantation), by Technology (Chemiluminescent, Colorimetric, & Fluorescent), and by Region (North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa) - Size, Share, Outlook, and Opportunity Analysis, 2022 - 2030
Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) is an immunoassay used to identify proteins, peptides, antibodies, and hormones. ELISA assay has application in biotechnology medicine, as a diagnostic tool, which detects color change to identify a target substance and measures its concentration in the test sample. The common diagnostic applications of ELISA are (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) HIV infection, pregnancy tests, and measurement of cytokines, soluble proteins, and others. Various antigen-antibody combinations are used in the immunoassay that include an enzyme-labeled antigen or antibody and enzyme activity is measured. On the basis of antigen-antibody combination, the assay is segmented into direct ELISA, indirect ELISA, sandwich ELISA, and competitive ELISA. Increasing prevalence of infectious disease such as HIV and increasing awareness regarding diagnosis of cancer and autoimmune diseases are major factors propelling demand for ELISA to reduce the burden of chronic diseases with early and accurate disease diagnosis.
Market Dynamics
Increasing product launches by market players is expected to of drive growth of the global Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) Market over the forecast period. For instance, On June 17, 2020, J Mitra & Co Pvt Ltd, a global company in the In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) industry had launched COVID-19 total antibody detection Elisa test kit in the Indian market. It is a Double-Sandwich Elisa technology, the test kit is known as COVID-19 [IgM, IgG, IgA] MICROLISA. It is a serology-based total antibody (IgM, IgG, IgA) detection assay. All the COVID-19 antibodies are detected without differentiation in antibodies, and this is the reason contributing to the superior performance of this test.
