Cardiac Implant Market, by Device (Pacemaker Devices, Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Devices, Implantable Hemodynamic Monitoring Devices, Implanted Heart Rhythm Monitors, Coronary Stents, Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator, Heart Valve, and Others), by Application (Arrhythmias, Myocardial Ischemia, Acute Myocardial Infraction, Congestive Heart Failure, and Others), by End User (Hospitals, Emergency Medical Centers, Ambulatory Surgical Center, Home Care Settings, and Others) and by Region (North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa) - Size, Share, Trends, and Forecast 2018 - 2027
An implantable cardiac devices is used to regulate and detect irregular heartbeat. The implantable cardiac device includes biventricular pacemakers, pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), and cardiac loop recorders. Biomaterial used in manufacturing cardiac implants are biocreamics, polymers, composite materials, metals and their alloys. The implantable cardioverter-defibrillator is categorized into two types namely traditional ICD and subcutaneous ICD (S-ICD). There are eight types of U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) approved devices that treat the heart disorders such as automated external defibrillators (AEDs), cardiac ablation catheters, cardiovascular angioplasty devices, cardiac pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), prosthetic (artificial) heart valves, stents, ventricular assist devices (VADs). Cardiac implantable electric device such as pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices are extensively used for cardiac disorders. Furthermore, there are two types of pacemakers used single chamber pacemaker and dual-chamber pacemaker.
Market Dynamics
Key players operating in cardiac implants market are launching new products based on advanced technologies, which is contributing to growth of the cardiac implants market. For instance, in April 2022, MicroPort CRM, a China-based cardiac rhythm management announced that it received MRI-conditional CE mark approval from the European Union for its Ulys and Edis ICDs. These new ICDs are high-voltage devices incorporated with advanced technology which allows low current consumption, resulting in long lifespan of the devices. The increasing efforts and innovative technologies are seen to emerge new strategy for driving the market. Hence, the launch of the advanced cardiac implants is expected to drive the market growth over the forecast period.
