Brazil Cardiac Pacemakers Market, by Product Type (Implantable Cardiac Pacemaker, External Cardiac Pacemaker) by Technology (Single Chamber Pacemaker, Dual Chamber Pacemaker, Biventricular Pacemaker), by End Users (Hospitals, Ambulatory Surgery enters, Cardiac Clinics) - Size, Share, Outlook, and Opportunity Analysis, 2021 - 2028
Cardiac pacemaker are medical device that supply impulses to the conduction system to originate contraction. The first cardiac pacemaker was introduced (Alee and Bernstein, 2001) in 1958, since then cardiac pacing has become a well-established therapeutic tool. Most cardiac pacemakers are inserted in patients above 60 years old and are also utilized in children, involving infants, if necessary. There are various types of conduction block which is most common indication for permanent cardiac pacing. Some leads to Bradycardia, which can result in ventricular dyssynchrony and ineffective ventricular contraction in normal heart rate.
The indications are sent to heart by electrical impulses which helps in producing a heartbeat. There are also some pacemakers which work as per needed. The patient is not allowed to drive a car for a week after insertion of the pacemaker.
Market Dynamics
The increasing need for adoption of cardiac pacemakers, growing trend of medical tourism in Brazil, and increasing adoption of inorganic growth strategies such as mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and collaborations by key players operating in the market are the major factors that are expected to drive growth of the Brazil cardiac pacemakers market over the forecast period.
Cardiac pacemakers are increasingly used in the Chagas disease, which is highly endemic in 21 countries of Latin America, primarily transmitted by large, blood-sucking reduviid insects widely known as 'the kissing bugs' and by other means such as blood transfusion, organ transplantation, as well as congenital and oral transmissions. For instance, as per stated in National Library of Medicine 25%-30% of cardiac stimulation were performed in 2017 for Chagas disease in Brazil according to Brazil Pacemaker Registry (BPR)
