Automotive emission analyzer is an instrument that measures gas emissions of both diesel and gasoline fueled vehicles. It detects and displays the level of air pollutants such as hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), and nitrous oxides for gasoline fueled vehicles. An automotive emission analyzer includes input devices, an LCD display, sensors, and a microcontroller. The sensors used in the automotive emission analyzer are Iridium 50 gas sensors and NOXO 100 which detect gas emissions such as carbon dioxide, hydrocarbon, and nitrous oxide. The analyzer also consists of a temperature sensor, which provides temperature information and revolutions per minute (rpm) to the user. The emission analyzer’s results are verified by comparing results with the land transportation office (LTO) registered emission testing center.
Market Dynamics
Growing demand for advancements in automobiles, along with rising concern and awareness regarding emissions caused by vehicles is projected to drive revenue growth of the global automotive emission analyzer market. The automobile industry is expected to face challenges due to stringent regulatory norms related to safety and emissions. Government rules and regulations aimed at limiting or reducing toxic emissions from vehicles are major factors that are expected to drive growth of the global automotive emission analyzer market. For instance, the European Union has implemented the Euro 6/VI standard norms to control vehicular emissions. Moreover, technological advancements in emission analyzers to measure particulate matter emitted by vehicles on roads, are playing a vital role in the market growth. In order to reduce gas emissions from automobiles, there has been an increasing demand for automotive emission analyzers to identify gas emissions such as carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) for both diesel and gasoline-fueled vehicles. For instance, in 2015, in order to avoid regulations, Volkswagen rigged emission testing of around 11 million cars in the U.S with the help of a software that lowered emission levels during laboratory testing of diesel vehicles. Following this, environmental protection agencies strictly investigated existing emission analysis techniques, which has created an opportunity for market players to invest in emission analyzers. This, in turn, has resulted in an increased demand for emission analyzers.
However, shifting preference towards electric vehicles that generate half the emissions of an average comparable gasoline car, as well as the huge manufacturing cost may hamper demand for automotive emission analyzers.
