Actinic Keratosis (AK) is the most common pre-cancer that forms on skin damaged by chronic exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun. Actinic Keratosis is also known as solar keratosis. Actinic keratosis forms like a patch on the skin. The patches usually appear on areas of your body that are often exposed to the sun, such as your face, hands and arms, ears, scalp and legs.
