Research Report on China's Vitamin C Export 2023-2032
Vitamin C is a polyhydroxy compound widely found in vegetables and fruits, and is one of the largest vitamin species in the world in terms of production and sales. Vitamin C is used in pharmaceutical, animal feed, cosmetic and food industries, among which, health food industry is its main application area. With economic development, people's health consciousness has gradually increased, and the demand for health products and other products has increased, which has promoted the development of vitamin C market.
China is one of the world's major vitamin C producers and exporters. According to CRI analysis, in 2021, China exported 197,600 tons of vitamin C, down 4.57% year-on-year, with an export value of US$942 million, up 24.87% year-on-year. From January to October 2022, China exported 161,400 tons of vitamin C, up 4.19% year-on-year, with an export value of US$695 million, down 5.77% year-on-year.
In 2021, China exported vitamin C to more than 160 countries and regions around the world. CRI analysis shows that by export volume, the U.S., Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, Brazil, Indonesia, Poland, India, South Korea and Vietnam are the main export destinations for vitamin C from China. Among them, the U.S. is the largest destination for China's vitamin C exports. In 2021, China exported 42 thousand tons of vitamin C to the U.S., accounting for 21.26% of the total vitamin C exports that year, with an export value of US$190 million, accounting for 20.17% of the total export value.
In recent years, China has become a major global producer and exporter of vitamin C. CRI expects the global vitamin C vegetarian market size to continue to grow from 2023-2032, helping to boost China's vitamin export volume.
