Research Report on China's American Ginseng Import 2023-2032
American ginseng is a popular health food among Chinese residents. With the development of China's economy, the residents' living standard has improved, their health consciousness has increased and their consumption ability has increased, while the accelerated pace of life and the increased pressure of life have led to the gradual growth of Chinese residents' demand for health care products, which has contributed to the expansion of the American ginseng industry.
Since the production of locally grown American ginseng in China is very low, a large amount of imported American ginseng is needed every year. According to CRI's analysis, in 2021, China imported 1,903.12 tons of American ginseng, up 137.05% year-on-year, with an import value of US$55,663,800, up 83.98% year-on-year. From January to November 2022, China imported 3,332.25 tons of American ginseng, up 90.56% year-on-year, with an import value of US$63,052,000, up 21.49% year-on-year.
In 2021, China imported American ginseng from Canada and the United States. In 2021, China imported 1,685.97 tons of American ginseng from Canada, accounting for 88.59% of the total imports of American ginseng in that year, and the import value was US$41,426,900, accounting for 74.42% of the total import value.
CRI expects that China's American ginseng market imports will continue to rise from 2023-2032 to meet the growing Chinese ginseng consumption market.
