Middle East & Africa 3D Printing Market Outlook, 2028

Middle East & Africa 3D Printing Market Outlook, 2028

The Middle East and Africa 3D printing market is experiencing steady growth and is expected to continue to do so in the coming years. The growth of the 3D printing market in the Middle East and Africa region can be attributed to various factors, such as the increasing adoption of 3D printing in various applications, such as healthcare, aerospace and defence, and the automotive industries, among others. Additionally, the growing government initiatives to promote 3D printing technology and the increasing demand for personalized products are also contributing to the growth of the market. The market is expected to witness continued growth in the coming years as the technology becomes more affordable and awareness about its benefits increases. The market is expected to witness several future trends, such as the increasing adoption of metal 3D printing in various industries, the growing demand for 3D printing in the medical sector, and the development of advanced materials for 3D printing, among others. Additionally, the increasing focus on sustainability is also expected to drive the growth of the market, as 3D printing can significantly reduce waste compared to traditional manufacturing methods. The rapidly developing IT industry and the availability of low-cost raw materials are driving market growth in the Middle East and Africa. These regions are expected to grow significantly during the forecast period.

According to the research report, “Middle East & Africa 3D Printing Market Outlook, 2028” published by Bonafide Research, the market is expected to reach USD 4.06 billion by 2028. The Middle Eastern and African markets have embraced 3D printing technology, which is expected to expand across various sectors in the region. Domestic spending and the retail industry market in Africa have shown a positive trend as the continent's economy has grown. This could result in the establishment of new warehouses and logistical centers in the region, thereby assisting in the growth of the 3D printing market. The abundant availability of human resources is the primary factor driving the growth of this market in the Middle East and Africa region (both domestic and migrant). The Middle East has a high standard of living, which increases their desire for innovative medical solutions. Recently, significant progress has been made towards the establishment of a 3D printing zone in the country, which will undoubtedly benefit the industry. Because of the government's large spending power and the presence of highly qualified personnel in the region, technological development is rapid, making industrial processes more efficient. This will create a friendly environment for the 3D printing industry. Based on the offerings, the printer segment has the largest market share.

3D printing technology was first introduced to the Middle East and Africa region in the early 2000s. At that time, 3D printing was primarily used in research and development settings, and the technology was not yet widely available to businesses and individuals. Over time, the adoption of 3D printing technology began to increase in the region, driven by factors such as the growth of local manufacturing industries, the need for customized and personalized products, and the availability of more affordable 3D printing equipment. Several universities and research institutions in the region also played a role in advancing 3D printing technology. For example, the American University of Beirut in Lebanon established a 3D printing lab in 2014, which has since been used for a range of research projects and collaborations with industry partners. In recent years, 3D printing has continued to gain traction in the Middle East and Africa region, with a growing number of start-ups and businesses adopting the technology for a range of applications. Today, 3D printing is being used across a range of industries in the region, including healthcare, aerospace, automotive, and consumer goods. Based on the printer type, industrial 3D printers are anticipated to lead the market with over 75% market share by 2028.

In the Middle East and Africa, the market's growth will be driven by the growing use of 3D printing in the healthcare and aerospace industries, as well as the growth of the consumer goods market. Following the implementation of the 'Dubai 3D Printing Strategy' in 2016, the UAE 3D printing market experienced healthy growth. Furthermore, the government's plan to make the UAE a global hub for 3D printing is fueling market growth. Furthermore, increased investment from the public and private sectors, as well as initiatives to raise awareness about the technology and its applications, would propel the market to significant growth. The architecture sector generates the most revenue for the UAE 3D printing market. Binder jetting is the most widely used architectural modeling technology. Furthermore, the architectural sector is expected to grow faster in the coming years, owing primarily to the UAE's booming construction market. In addition, over $160 billion in new projects have been awarded over the next three years. The consumer sector ranks second in terms of revenue generation, owing to rising customer awareness and willingness to adopt new technology. Currently, 3D printing technology is being used in the medical field. COVID- 19 patients require medical devices such as ventilators to keep breathing, putting enormous strain on hospitals that are already overburdened. Keeping this in mind, several vendors have created 3D printer ventilators and valves, which would help to alleviate the shortage of machines required to treat sick patients. In terms of application, the prototyping segment will lead the market in 2022.

The UAE government has also actively promoted the establishment of advanced manufacturing and design hubs. The Dubai 3D Printing Strategy initiative was recently launched to promote the status of the United Arab Emirates, specifically Dubai, as the leading hub of 3D printing technology by 2030. Furthermore, the Suzhou building, a five-story apartment complex, is taller; the Dubai building, at 31 feet tall, is larger in volume at 6,900 square feet. Its purpose is less exciting than its construction; the Dubai Municipality will use it for administrative purposes. Furthermore, according to the Dubai Future Foundation, the city-state intends to 3D print 25% of all new buildings by 2025. The construction sector is the initial focus among the many sectors. This demonstrates the future growth of 3D reconstruction. Dar Al Arkan, a real estate development company based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, recently unveiled their first project, a three-story 3D-printed villa built with a COBOD International 3D construction printer. The project is located in Shams Al Riyadh, just northwest of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's capital, in a new 12 million m2 land development project that is part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. As part of the larger Saudi Vision 2030, the country's Ministry of Housing has announced the completion of the first house in the Middle East built using 3D printing technology. The goal of this experiment is to compete with technological progress in the world of future construction, to benefit from the world's latest technologies, and to be a pioneer in promoting the adoption of innovative construction techniques in the construction sector and the localization of its industry in the Kingdom in accordance with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 objectives.

DEWA's 3D printing construction project reportedly took more than five years to complete in August 2021, but it is now open for business. The R&D Center is believed to have four sub-laboratories, including dedicated electronics, software, mechanics, and prototype capabilities, and is located 50 kilometers south of Dubai in the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. Furthermore, in February 2018, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Arab Health Exhibition and Congress announced a strategic partnership to provide healthcare professionals in the region with an insight into the future of 3D bioprinting. Dubai intends to house up to 700 companies in the new 3D bioprinting center as part of its goal to become a global technology hub by 2030. Pantheon Development, founded in the same year, is a luxury home, villa, apartment, and penthouse developer on the outskirts of Dubai's Umm Al Sheif residential district. Normally, the company uses traditional construction methods to build these opulent housing complexes, but it is now reportedly considering using 3D printing for the first time.

Recent Developments:
• Redefine Meat, an Israeli company, will begin selling 3D-printed plant-based ""meat"" to a few high-end restaurants in Europe in November 2021. Redefine Meat uses 3D printers and ""ink"" to ""print"" the steaks. The company intends to sell the printers and cartridges to meat distributors all over the world, who will then print and distribute the meat.
• In March 2021, Immensa Technology will join global players Sandvik and the BEAMIT Group to strengthen its position as a Middle East additive manufacturing specialist.
