Global Wind Turbine Market Outlook to 2028

Global Wind Turbine Market Outlook to 2028

The sustained substantial increase in installation volumes of wind turbines across the globe, supportive policies by governments, growing electricity demand coupled with increasing renewable energy mix are some of the few factors driving the Wind Turbines market growth.

US wind power has more than tripled in the past decade to become the largest renewable power source in the country. US wind power additions continued at a robust pace in 2019, with over 9,000 megawatts (MW) of new capacity added, bringing total US capacity to 105.6 gigawatts (GW). The orders of wind turbines from the US have stayed strong in this COVID 19 situation too. Now, with the win of Joe Biden as president of America, his plan of USD 2 trillion in clean energy spending will boost the wind sector further in the following years.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in India has set up a Project Development Cell (PDC) within its aegis to ease and streamline securing approvals for renewable energy developers in June 2020. The Federal Government of India has mandated the setting up an Empowered Group of Secretaries (EGoS) and Project Development Cells (PDC) within all ministries and departments to attract investments in the country by ensuring coordination between the central and state governments. PDC under the MNRE will be tasked with creating projects for all approvals, availability of land for allocation, and complete detailed project reports for adoption or investment by investors. At the same time, it will also identify issues that hinder new projects and their investments, which need to be placed before the Empowered Group for resolution.
