Global Industrial Control Transformer Market Report - Market Analysis, Size, Share, Growth, Outlook - Industry Trends and Forecast to 2028

The growth of industrial control transformer is due to increasing dependency on electricity, increasingly sensitive electrical equipment, booming renewable energy, and augmented power generation capacities worldwide, and need to reduce equipment failure caused by frequent voltage spikes make it mandatory to have reliable sources of high-quality power. Lightning transients and voltage instability are major causes of equipment failure and disruption in operations. Such disruptions can damage critical power equipment such as transformers, switchgears, capacitors, overhead lines, inductors, programmable logic control, motors, and traction systems. Industrial control transformers minimize the risk of voltage instability and protect equipment for safe and reliable performance.

Factors such as the increasing number of industries (such as chemical, and metal and mining) electrical equipment’s are essential in these areas to provide smooth and quality power. The major limitation in any industry is the failure of power equipment. The lighting transients and instability of voltages disturbs the industry operations. These disruptions can cause plenty of damages and losses. The sudden voltage instabilities can fail machinery. The power inconsistencies can easily affect the capacitors, transformers, switches gears, over lines, tractors and motion systems. The demand to reduce equipment failure on account of frequent voltage fluctuations are likely to drive the industrial control transformer market.

Transformer, device that transfers electric energy from one alternating-current circuit to one or more other circuits, either increasing (stepping up) or reducing (stepping down) the voltage. Transformers are employed for widely varying purposes; e.g., to reduce the voltage of conventional power circuits to operate low-voltage devices, such as doorbells and toy electric trains, and to raise the voltage from electric generators so that electric power can be transmitted over long distances.

A control transformer, (also known as an industrial control transformer, or a control power transformer, or even a machine tool transformer) is an isolation transformer designed to provide a high degree of secondary voltage stability or voltage regulation during a short period overload condition typically referred to as inrush. Control transformers are also referred to as Industrial Control Transformers, Machine Tool Transformers, or Control Power Transformers (CPT’s).

An Industrial control transformer is very often designed to produce a high level of secondary voltage stability during brief periods of overload condition, otherwise typically known as “inrush current”.

Industrial Control transformers are generally used in an electronic circuit and components that requires constant voltage or constant current with a low power or volt-amp rating. Various filtering devices, such as capacitors, are used to minimize the variations in the output. This results in a more constant voltage or current.

Industrial Control transformers incorporate high-quality insulating materials. This insulation is used to electrically insulate turn to turn windings, layer to layer windings, primary to secondary windings and ground. Control transformers are vacuum impregnated with VT polyester resin and oven-cured, which seals the surface and eliminates moisture. Filling the entire unit provides a strong mechanical bond and offers protection from the environment.

Industrial Control Transformer Opportunities:

• Industrial control transformers are also referred to as control power transformers that are useful where the available voltage must be changed to adjust the voltage required by the load. The control transformers find applications in hospitals, office buildings, industrial plants, schools, commercial buildings, shopping centers, and apartment buildings.

Industrial Control Transformer Restraints:

• Dependent on other voltage regulation devices such has stabilizers.

• Increasing usage of inbuilt voltage regulators decreasing the demand for control transformers.

By phase type, the three-phase segment is expected to grow at a significant market share during the forecast period because it provides better efficiency in industrial applications as compared to the single-phase segment. Based on geography, Asia Pacific is anticipated to hold considerable market share during the forecast period due to industrialization and infrastructural developments taking place in the major economies like China and India.

The study presents a detailed analysis of various factors that affect Global Industrial Control Transformer Market revenue. The study also comprehensively analyses the Industrial control transformer market by segmenting it based on geography (Asia Pacific, North America, South America, Europe, Middle East, ROW), based on end user (Utilities, Industrial and commercial), based on power rating (25-500 VA, 500-1,000 VA,1,000-1,500 VA), based on phase (Single-phase, Three-phase)
