Global WEEE Recycling Market is valued approximately USD XX billion in 2021 and is anticipated to grow with a healthy growth rate of more than XX% over the forecast period 2022-2029. WEEE recycling refers to recycling of waste of electrical and electronic equipment. WEEE recycling is widely utilized for proper recycling of E waste to eliminate its probable environmental impacts. It is also used in extraction of valuable recyclable products such as metals, plastics, others from E waste. The increasing volume of electronic waste generation worldwide and growing awareness towards proper recycling of E-waste as well as strategic initiatives from leading market players are key factors accelerating the market growth.
According to Statista – during 2019, the volume of electronic waste generated worldwide was estimated at 54 million metric tons, and as per projections by 2030 this number would grow to 74.7 million metric tons. Moreover, according to International Telecommunication Union (ITU)’s - The Global E-waste Monitor 2020 report - In 2019, around 53.6 million metric tons (Mt) of e waste generated worldwide, and only 17.4% of this was officially documented as properly collected and recycled waste. Also, favorable initiatives from government authorities and growing number of R&D activities towards E-waste recycling would create lucrative growth prospectus for the market over the forecast period. However, high cost associated with WEEE recycling and lack of penetration in developing regions impede the market growth throughout the forecast period of 2022-2029.
The key regions considered for the Global WEEE Recycling Market study includes Asia Pacific, North America, Europe, Latin America, and Rest of the World. North America is the leading region in terms of revenue owing to presence of leading market players and favorable initiatives from government authorities to ensure proper recycling of e waste in the region. Whereas Asia Pacific is expected to grow significantly during the forecast period, owing to factors such as rising penetration of leading market players as well as growing awareness towards WEEE recycling in the region.
