Global Centrifugal Pump Market Size study & Forecast, by Operation Type (Electrical, Hydraulic, Air-Driven), by Stage (Single Stage, Multistage), by Type (Overhung Impeller, Vertically Suspended, Between Bearing), by End-user (Industrial, Commercial & Residential) and Regional Analysis, 2023-2030
Global Centrifugal Pump Market is valued at approximately USD 38.76 billion in 2022 and is anticipated to grow with a healthy growth rate of more than 5.90% over the forecast period 2023-2030. The centrifugal pump market refers to the global industry involved in the design, manufacture, and sale of centrifugal pumps. Centrifugal pumps are mechanical devices that use rotating impellers to increase the pressure and flow of fluid within a system. The major driving factors for the Global Centrifugal Pump Market are rising demand for water and wastewater management in developed countries and increasing construction activities of residential and commercial spaces. Moreover, rising investment in wastewater treatment plants and rapid urbanization are creating lucrative growth opportunities for the market over the forecast period 2023-2030.
As per the World Health Organization (WHO), by 2026, half of the world's population is predicted to reside in water-scarce regions. Consequently, there will be a significant expansion of water and wastewater treatment infrastructure across the globe in the upcoming years. This anticipated growth is expected to fuel the demand for centrifugal pumps. The cost-effective modular design of wastewater treatment facilities has led to a reduction in the initial investment required, making them an attractive option. Furthermore, these plants can be easily expanded as the need for increased capacity arises due to higher wastewater flow and treatment requirements. Along with this, in February 2019, Kemira, a global chemical company specializing in water treatment, launched its new anionic flocculant, Kemira Fennobind A100, for use in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment. The product is designed to improve floc formation and settling rates, leading to more efficient and effective wastewater treatment. Similarly, in April 2020, SNF Floerger, a leading producer of water-soluble polymers, announced plans to expand its production capacity for anionic flocculants in Asia. The company cited strong demand for these products from the region's growing wastewater treatment market as the reason for the expansion. However, the high cost of Centrifugal Pumps stifles market growth throughout the forecast period of 2023-2030.
The key regions considered for the Global Centrifugal Pump Market study include Asia Pacific, North America, Europe, Latin America, and Middle East & Africa. The North American centrifugal pump market is dominating due to the growing demand for water and wastewater treatment, as well as the expansion of the oil and gas industry in the region. The United States and Canada are the major markets in this region. The Asia-Pacific region is projected to be the fastest-growing market for centrifugal pumps due to the increasing population, urbanization, and industrialization in emerging economies like China and India. The region also experiences water scarcity, which is expected to drive the demand for water treatment facilities and centrifugal pumps.
