Zinc Bacitracin is a mixture of high-molecular-weight polypeptides (bacitracin A, B, C, and several minor components). Zinc Bacitracin occurs as a yellowish gray-brown to brown powder. It has characteristic odor. It is freely soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid, water, pyridine, and menthol. Bacitracin has antibacterial effect on Gram-negative bacteria, actinomycetes, and leptospirae, and strong antibacterial effect on Gram-positive bacteria. It has growth-promoting effect on chickens (including broilers), pigs, and cattle.
